/ Carrillo, David (CERN) ; Berberat, Raphael (CERN) ; Georgakakis, Spyridon (CERN) ; Guasch-Martinez, Josep (CERN) ; Lopez Cordoncillo, Denisse (CERN) ; de Nicolás Lumbreras, Enrique (CERN) ; Nowak, Edward (CERN) ; Papamichali, Maria (CERN) ; Pojer, Mirko (CERN) ; Rodriguez Mateos, Felix (CERN) et al.
The Quench Heater Discharge Power Supplies (HDS) are magnet protection devices installed in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) that, upon detection of a magnet quench, release energy into strip heaters that are in thermal contact with the superconducting coils, inducing a resistive transition all along the coils. The new HDS design for protection of the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) Inner Triplet magnets calls for a more advanced design with up-to-date components resulting in a high reliability of the HDS units. Hardware Commissioning of the HL-LHC Inner Triplet String Facility at CERN: Individual System and Short Circuit Tests
/ Yammine, Samer (CERN) ; Antoine, Alain (CERN) ; Onufrena, Aleksandra (CERN) ; Perin, Antonio (CERN) ; Panev, Bozhidar Ivanov (CERN) ; Bozzini, Davide (CERN) ; Coulot, Emilien (CERN) ; Thiesen, Hugues (CERN) ; Zerlauth, Markus (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) et al.
The goal of the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) Inner Triplet (IT) String test, is to validate the assembly and connection procedures and tools required for its construction, to assess the collective behavior of the superconducting magnet chain in conditions as close as possible to those of their operation in the HL-LHC and to provide a training opportunity for the equipment teams for their work in the LHC tunnel. The IT String includes the systems required for operation at nominal conditions, such as the cryogenics, powering and quench protection systems. [...]

Design, manufacturing and validation of the CLIQ units for the protection of superconducting magnets for the High-Luminosity LHC project at CERN
/ Carrillo, David (CERN) ; Berberat, Raphael (CERN) ; Favre, Mathieu (CERN) ; Georgakakis, Spyridon (CERN) ; Guasch-Martinez, Josep (CERN) ; Lopez Cordoncillo, Denisse (CERN) ; de Nicolás Lumbreras, Enrique (CERN) ; Nowak, Edward (CERN) ; Pojer, Mirko (CERN) ; Rodriguez Mateos, Felix (CERN) et al.
The novel Coupling-Loss-Induced-Quench (CLIQ) concept will be part of the quench protection system of the superconducting Inner Triplet magnets of the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) upgrade at CERN. Several units of two distinct CLIQ prototype variants were produced to validate the CLIQ protection concept and define the system parameters for the required performance. [...]

HL-LHC magnet production: building a complex planning to identify bottlenecks
/ Fleury, Sarah (CERN) ; Todesco, Ezio (CERN) ; Barberan Marin, Maria (CERN) ; Bernardini, Marzia (CERN)
The High-Luminosity LHC project aims to enhance the integrated luminosity of the LHC machine by a factor of 10, by upgrading various components located in the LHC tunnel just before the collision points, with cutting-edge technologies. Among these innovations are the new superconducting magnets equipped with a combination of $Nb-Ti$ and $Nb_3Sn$. [...]

Sorting strategies for the new superconducting magnets for the CERN HL-LHC
/ Pugnat, Thomas (CERN) ; Wegscheider, Andreas (CERN) ; Todesco, Ezio (CERN) ; Giovannozzi, Massimo (CERN) ; Tomas, Rogelio (CERN)
In a circular collider, precise control of the linear optics in the vicinity of the interaction points plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal operational performance and satisfying the machine protection constraints. Superconducting magnets are affected by unavoidable field errors that impact machine performance, and mitigation strategies are usually put in place to improve the situation. [...]
