High Luminosity LHC Optics Feasibility Studies for: ATLAS, ALICE, and LHCb
/ Patel, Pragati (Cracow, INP) ; Trzebiński, Maciej (Cracow, INP)
Properties of proton trajectories along the High Luminosity LHC beam-line in the vicinity of ATLAS, ALICE, and LHCb interaction points are discussed. Based on this, possible locations of forward proton detectors in the vicinity of these experiments were identified. [...]

MLR1: CMOS MAPS technology validation for ALICE ITS3
/ Sturniolo, A (INFN, Catania ; Catania U. ; Catania, CSFNSM)
/ALICE Collaboration
The second ALICE Inner Tracking System upgrade project (ITS3),
to be completed during LHC Long Shutdown 3 (LS3, 2026-2028), will dramatically
reduce the Inner Barrel (IB) detectors’ material budget and thus improve the ITS
tracking capabilities (detection efficiency and track resolution). For this purpose,
the ITS3 project envisions replacing the current ITS2 IB with 6 flexible, truly cylindrical
half-layers, supported only by a carbon foam frame and cooled down by an air
system. [...]

ITS3: the next upgrade of the ALICE Inner Tracking System
/ La Rocca, Paola (Catania U. ; INFN, Catania)
/ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE experiment, optimized to study nuclei collisions at the ultra relativistic energies provided by the LHC, is approaching to a new upgrade phase, foreseen in 2026 during the third Long Shutdown of the accelerator. This upgrade includes the replacement of the 3 innermost layers of the Inner Tracking System, the detector closest to the interaction point, which is currently made of 7 layers of Monolithic Active Pixels Sensors (MAPS). Forward dijet and vector meson production at the LHC
/ Royon, Christophe (Kansas U.) ; Penttala, Jani (Kansas U. ; UCLA)
/ALICE Collaboration
We first describe the predictions concerning jet production in the very forward region, especially in the FOCAL kinematic region of the ALICE collaboration at CERN as a test of saturation. We also compare vector meson production cross sections at the LHC in Pb Pb and p Pb collisions with the Balitsky Fadin Kuraev Lipatov and the Balitsky Kovchegov evolution equations and data favor the observation of saturation at the LHC..
